Search for Flickr and Panoramio photos
AroundMe helps you to spot what’s interesting in your vicinity as well as anywhere else in the world. You can pinpoint a particular location on the map, or search for any place by its name, if you are not happy with what you’ve got nearby!

The images of places are taken from the Flickr and Panoramio popular photo-sharing sites, and they can be downloaded on your mobile phone or shared with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, email and more.
Search for YouTube videos
Sometimes static photos are not enough to represent and portray the spirit of a place.
That’s why AroundMe integrates to YouTube to search, present and play back the videos taken by fellow travelers at the locations you choose to explore.

Have a look at it. Isn’t it cool?!
Find Wikipedia landmarks on the map
Finding yourself in a new city for few days? Trying to figure out what are the historical points of interest that are worth a visit?
AroundMe can find for you the best places thanks to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia.

Each place is presented on the map, in relation to your position, and it comes with complete descriptions and pictures.
You won’t miss that bulky Lonely Planet never again!
Get driving, walking and public transit directions to the selected places
And of course, if you have chosen a nice place to see, how to go there?
Let AroundMe suggest you the driving, walking or public transit directions to you destination, and you’ll never get lost!

Hi. Just wanted to say that I love your app, it’s supper cool, and useful for me. Just one thing. Can you implement in any future releases Zooming of panoramic photos(180+ deg)?? At the moment I can only see a thin stripe of a photo, without the possibility of zooming in. If there Is such a possibility, I haven’t found it in the app. Regards
Dear Footz,
Thank you for using AroundMe and for your suggestion!
We will definitely develop the zooming function in the next release.
At the moment, the Panoramio image is displayed to fit the device screen dimensions, that is why panoramic photos (that are supposed to be much wider in length than in height) may appear too small.
Until the release of v. 1.6.0, you can eventually save the panoramic photo on your SD card (through the option “save” in the app menu), and then open it with your photo app directly from the SD card. The default photo app on Android has the zooming function. I may not be a very smooth process, but it could be a possible temporary workaround.
Kindest regards.
Hi again. Can you implement in the new version a swiping function to browse through the photos, instead to go back to the photos list to look at the next photo, one would only had to swipe the current photo with a finger (or press for example the key 6, if not touch-screen) to go to the next one in the list. Thank you!
Dear Footz,
You have good ideas and we really want to follow up by developing them.
Unfortunately, we were very busy during the last few months and we had to postpone our release plans for AroundMe.
However, I can confirm that we will continue to update and support AroundMe. Hopefully we can release a new version with the features that you need by the end of next month.
Kindest Regards,
Andrea
